Logo

Dr Simmons suggested new wording to be associated with the logo for the Forum:

"Cross Hands: the Crossroads of Carmarthenshire"

"Cross Hands: Croesffordd Caerfyrddin"

It was unanimously agreed to adopt this original phrase.

Gwendraeth Valley Area Forum

Cllr. Baker advised that our plans continue to dovetail into the programme being developed by the Gwendraeth Valley Area Forum. One of this group's suggestions was to recommend the siting of a major bus terminal in Cross Hands.

A substantial regeneration programme was being developed for Carmarthenshire.

School Involvement

Letters to be sent to the two secondary schools informing them of our aims. This was on the suggestion of Mr John Dawson.

Karl Richards informed the forum that he was awaiting further communication from Gwendraeth school with regard to the leaflet design.

Thursday, November 28th 2000 at 7.30pm.

Chairman plus 10 members present.

This meeting concentrated on preparation and possible question format for the forthcoming presentations by the three preferred companies.

Presentation Meeting: Thursday, December 5th 2000 at 7.30pm.

Dr Mike Simmons in the chair with 12 members present plus Viv Davies, Regeneration Manager CCC.

The three companies gave short presentations to the meeting followed by questions from the floor. A point-scoring format was followed to determine the outcome. One company emerged as the most favoured option. Dependent on further information sought on the current fee bid submitted by the favoured company, the forum hoped to award the contract as soon as practically possible.

The secretary continued to liaise with CCC during December for clarification on our possition.

Next full meeting: The next meeting of the forum will be on Tuesday January 9th 2001 in the Cross Hands Workingmens Club Lounge at 7.30pm
